PROJECT INFO

Mini Manhattan redefines commercial precincts through a bold architectural response that prioritises variety, wellbeing, and ecological integration. Situated within the evolving landscape of Macquarie Park, this visionary workplace precinct spans over 14,800 sqm, unlocking significant uplift in built form under the City of Ryde’s 2014 Corridor DCP.

Breaking away from conventional monolithic massing, the project adopts a village-scale approach, introducing a series of smaller interwoven forms—each tailored to provide unique commercial leasing options while enhancing public engagement. The result is a vibrant, human-scaled development that offers flexibility in floor plate design and a more welcoming, interactive streetscape.

The project began with a reverse briefing process, where multiple bold conceptual approaches were presented to the client—each balancing commercial yield with public benefit. The enthusiastic client response: “I want it all,” catalysed the design of a dynamic mixed-use ecosystem.

At the heart of Mini Manhattan is a deep commitment to biophilic design. Elevated across multiple levels, the Natural Habitat Platforms provide green sanctuaries where workers can retreat, recharge, and reconnect with nature. These rooftop gardens are not only places of respite, but also active ecological zones that support local airborne wildlife and biodiversity. Public art installations and outdoor gathering spaces are strategically embedded throughout, transforming the precinct into a canvas for creative expression and social interaction. This seamless integration of culture, wellness, and ecology sets a new standard for contemporary workplace environments.
